Sofia Richie Grainge Is Timelessly Elegant in a Black Velvet Gown

A sleek updo added to her sophisticated look

Sofia Richie Grainge brought her elegant style to the red carpet last night at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala.

The new mom stepped out to the Pacific Design Center for the annual soirée, which supports the eponymous nonprofit in providing resources to children living in poverty. For the occasion, she opted for a regal black velvet dress from Alessandra Rich. The halter-neck design featured ivory satin straps, as well as a bow accent, while the rest of the column silhouette was enrobed in plush black velvet.

Richie Grainge complimented her sophisticated ensemble with black slingback pumps. She sprinkled jewelry throughout her look, wearing a few diamond rings, a gold cuff bracelet, and a pair of diamond-encrusted hoop earrings. A black clutch with an ornate gold clasp rounded out her outfit, while also allowing her to show off her burgundy manicure.

To best show off her gown’s design details, Richie Grainge wore her highlighted blonde hair in a slicked-back updo. A light brown eyeshadow accentuated her brown eyes, while a glowing highlight and nude lipstick finished off her radiant look. Later in the night, she was joined by her husband Elliot Grainge, who looked just as smart in a black suit.

The couple welcomed their first child in May, and the model has since revealed that pregnancy was not an easy journey for her. Last month, Richie Grainge made an appearance on an episode of the women’s health advocacy podcast She MD, where she recalled gaining 70 pounds while carrying her baby daughter, and being out on bed rest when she began having contractions at six months pregnant.

Richie Grange says she ended up having to stay in the hospital for six days: “I was begging…please, please let me go home. And Dr. A was like, ‘You can go home, but you’re on bed rest. We have to monitor you.’ So that’s what I did. Bed rest…but contracting. And we induced at 38 weeks. I had a fantastic delivery.”
